Quality control and EU compliance for felt products

Felt products are usually simple, but their labels are not. Textile fibre rules, general product safety and, in some cases, toy, fire or packaging rules all apply. A recycled claim adds its own need for evidence.

We check factories and goods, prepare labels, and act as the EU importer.

What we check

Factory

Licence, capacity, export experience, certificates actually valid for the site.

Samples

Thickness, weight, colour, seams and branding against your specification.

Pre-shipment inspection

AQL sampling of finished goods: quantity, appearance, labels and packaging.

Documents

Frequently asked questions

Do felt bags need CE marking?

No. Ordinary bags and home products have no CE marking. They must be safe under the GPSR and labelled correctly. CE applies to toys and some other categories.

Can you provide OEKO-TEX certificates?

Where the factory or mill holds one that covers the material. We check the certificate number and scope, and we do not assume it covers a finished product.

Which inspection standard do you use?

Pre-shipment inspections follow AQL sampling (ISO 2859-1), with limits agreed per product.

Can you order lab tests?

Yes, from accredited laboratories such as SGS, Intertek, TÜV or Bureau Veritas. Costs depend on the product and tests.
