Words to use carefully
Do not call wool felt biodegradable or natural in a general way without explanation: dyes, blends and backing materials change the picture, and “biodegradable” is one of the terms named in the EU rules on generic claims.
Fibre facts are better: “100 % wool, 4 mm, dyed in the EU” if the documents show this. The country of manufacture may differ between product lines, and we state it per product.
Frequently asked questions
Is wool felt better than rPET felt?
It is different. Wool has a more luxurious feel and better natural behaviour near heat, while rPET felt costs less and uses recovered feedstock. Compare swatches and pick by use.
Is wool felt itchy?
Coarser grades can be, which is rarely a problem for bags and desk items. For skin contact, ask for a finer grade.
Can wool felt be washed?
Usually by spot cleaning or cold hand wash. Hot water and agitation shrink it.
