Frequently asked questions
Can felt coasters be used with hot cups?
Polyester felt softens at high temperatures, so we test coasters and placemats with hot mugs and state limits for hot pans. Wool felt tolerates heat better.
How are felt placemats cleaned?
Usually by wiping with a damp cloth, or by cold hand wash. We supply care instructions per product.
Is felt suitable for food contact?
Coasters and placemats are not food-contact materials as such. If a product is meant to touch food directly, tell us and we check the requirements.
Do you make felt storage boxes with a lid?
Felt storage boxes and baskets are made with or without a lid, and baskets with handles. How well they hold their shape depends on the felt thickness, which we test on a sample.
Can I order round or custom-shaped felt placemats?
Round and shaped placemats and coasters are cut to your drawing from about 100 pieces per model. Send the shape and thickness you need.
