Felt as a material: recycled PET felt and wool felt
Felt is a non-woven textile: fibres are matted together by needling or by heat and moisture rather than woven. The fibre decides nearly everything else: price, feel, what happens in a fire test, and what you can honestly say about it.
We work with three kinds. Recycled PET felt and standard polyester felt are the everyday materials; wool felt is the premium line.
Three materials
Recycled PET felt
Polyester fibre partly or wholly recovered from post-consumer PET. The recycled share varies by product and is stated per product.

Virgin or undocumented polyester fibre. Same process and similar properties, and the right choice when no recycled claim is needed.
Catalogue →Wool felt
A natural fibre with a dense, dry feel and good natural fire behaviour. It costs several times more than polyester felt.

Choosing thickness
Thickness alone can mislead. A felt of 3 mm can be loose or dense, so always compare grams per m² too.
1–2 mm
Craft sheets, decoration, linings and small pouches.
3–5 mm
Bags, laptop sleeves, coasters, desk mats, baskets: the range for most gift and home products.
9–24 mm
Boards for panels, baffles and desk screens. Published market examples range from about 1.6 kg/m² at 9 mm to about 4.4 kg/m² at 24 mm.
Frequently asked questions
Is felt a new material?
No, felt is ancient, and PET felt has been sold for years too. What is changing is the demand for documented recycled content, and that is where we focus.
Which felt should I choose for a corporate gift?
Usually recycled PET felt of 3–5 mm for bags and sleeves, or wool felt for a premium desk set. A swatch comparison settles it quickly.
Can I mix materials in a set?
Yes, but label each product with its own composition.
