Measure the device
Use the outer width, depth and thickness of each model in your fleet. Add a little room for the felt thickness, usually a few millimetres on each side, and more for thick felt.
Typical size groups
- 13 inch: ultrabooks and smaller laptops
- 14 inch: the most common business size
- 15–16 inch: larger laptops and workstations
Closures and pockets
Envelope flaps with snaps or straps are quick to use. Zips protect better in transit. A front pocket for a charger is useful, but it adds cost and bulk.
Protection
Thick felt protects against scratches and light knocks, not drops. Add foam lining if devices travel a lot.
Branding
A small patch or deboss is the most popular choice on sleeves. Custom sizes usually start from about 100 pieces. See sleeves and document bags.
